Transparent orthodontics

There are types of transparent braces that can be removed and installed at home by yourself. ease.

Considerations for orthodontics:

  • The teeth must be in a completely healthy position and not suffer from any problems.
  • The mouth must be healthy, and if there are problems, it is preferable to treat them first.
  • Transparent orthodontics is not suitable in the case of missing teeth, and if there are missing teeth, it is preferable to implant them first.

Installation of transparent orthodontics

  • The first stage: the doctor needs to examine the teeth and make sure that they are free of cavities or any other problems that may cause damage to the orthodontic installation.
  • The second stage: At this stage, the doctor makes a three-dimensional image to know the size of the jaw and teeth, determine the sizes, and send the measurements to one of the specialized laboratories to make orthodontics with the required sizes.
  • The third stage: The specialized laboratory sends a trial model of the transparent braces to the dentist for the doctor to try on the patient’s teeth and sends the necessary adjustments to the specialized laboratory.
  • The fourth stage: It is based on the installation of the transparent braces on the part to be treated in the teeth, then the doctor connects the  metal wires in a strong manner to help in the installation, and this helps to create the required pressure on the teeth, which helps the teeth to move from their current place to reach their normal position.

Types of transparent orthodontics:

Ceramic braces:

It is the most common type among transparent braces, but it is very similar to metal braces, and one of its advantages is that it resembles the ivory color of the teeth and no individual can notice it except in the case of proximity to the person during smiling or talking.

1- One of the disadvantages of transparent ceramic braces is that only the doctor is able to move the braces and its installation, and the case is not allowed to do so, and it is not considered completely transparent.

2- one of the advantages of transparent ceramic braces is also that it is anti-stain.

Invisalign Orthodontics:

This type is more widespread than the previous type because it is considered more transparent and effective with the teeth, but it is after the highest price.

1- One of the advantages of Invisalign transparent orthodontics is that it allows the patient to install and remove it from the mouth, as it is a transparent mold that is easy to handle.

2- One of the disadvantages of Invisalign transparent orthodontics is that it is easy to remove and install at home, and here patients begins to feel lazy about installation, cleaning and sterilization again, and it is possible for the patients to feel upset and remove it at any time other than at mealtime, and therefore you cannot obtain greater effectiveness than any other type.

Invisible Transparent Orthodontics:

This type is not transparent in the literal sense, but it is hidden as this type is metallic, but this metal piece is installed in the inner place of the teeth inside the mouth and not the apparent place of the front teeth, and it plays its role and works to move the teeth invisibly.

  1. One of the advantages of invisible transparent braces is that
  2. it is more effective than other types of transparent braces.
  3. One of the disadvantages of invisible transparent orthodontics is that its price is higher than the previous types because it depends on certain installation and manufacturing techniques

The difference between transparent and regular orthodontics

Of course, there are many differences that we can recognize between both in the following points:

  • Metal braces are more powerful than other types of transparent and ceramic braces, so metal braces are more practical and effective.
  • Transparent braces cause some discomfort, as one of its disadvantages is that side effects such as gum irritation or some pain in the teeth, while regular braces cover a certain part of the teeth and not the entire teeth.
  • It is preferable to use the transparent type for simple and medium cases because its more delicate material makes the teeth unable to compress by nature because they are prone to fracture at any moment.
